Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition to be launched soon

The special ‘Onyx Edition’ of Skoda Kushaq has arrived at certain dealerships, hinting at an imminent release. The limited edition SUV will come with a few exclusive design updates but will be only made available for the 1.0-litre turbo petrol variant. Apart from the exterior cosmetic updates, there will be no other changes on the Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition. Last year, Skoda launched a special Anniversary Edition for the Kushaq as well.

Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition: What to expect?

The new Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition gets chrome highlights on the front grille along with a faux diffuser on the front bumper. Along the sides, the midsize SUV gets plastic covers on the 16-inch wheels. The SUV also gets exclusive ‘Onyx’ branding on the B pillar. On top of that, the door handles get a new grey graphic.

There are no changes to the interior layout of the Skoda Kushaq. The SUV continues to be offered with dual-tone interiors. A 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 6-speaker audio system, and rear AC vents can be found inside the SUV. The entry-level Active trim of the Kushaq gets some additional features like LED projector headlights, automatic climate control, fog lamps, a rear wiper, and a rear defogger.

Mechanically, Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition remains unchanged, receiving no updates. The special edition is only available with the 1.0-litre turbo petrol powertrain. This engine produces a maximum power output of 115hp and 175Nm peak torque and is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with no option for an automatic transmission.

Skoda will reveal the pricing for the Kushaq Onyx Edition upon launch. The Kushaq is one of the safest midsize SUVs in India, receiving a 5-star rating at the Global NCAP tests last year. The SUV rivals Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Volkswagen Taigun.
