Prices for RWD variants of Tata Harrier EV revealed

Tata Motors took the wraps off the Harrier EV earlier this month. At the time of launch, the automaker revealed the introductory price for the entry-level variant of the Tata Harrier EV. Now, the introductory prices for all the RWD variants have been announced. The prices for the AWD variants of the electric SUV will be revealed on June 27. As these are introductory prices, they will be hiked once a certain number of bookings have been made.

Here is the price list for the RWD variants of the Tata Harrier EV. These prices do not include the charger and its installation cost.

The Tata Harrier EV measures 4,607mm long, 2,132mm wide, and 1,740mm tall. It has a 2,741mm wheelbase. The electric SUV is 2mm longer, 210mm wider, and 22mm taller than its ICE sibling. The two cars share the same design language. The Harrier EV has sleek LED DRLs flanking the shut-off grille. These DRLs are connected by an LED light bar. The headlamps are housed inside neat cutouts on the bumper. The SUV rests on 19-inch aero-optimised alloys. The ‘Harrier.ev’ badging can be found at the back.

Inside, the Tata Harrier EV flaunts the world’s first Samsung Neo QLED automotive display for its 14.53-inch touchscreen infotainment system. There’s Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity onboard. The dual-tone dashboard exudes a premium look, and the four-spoke steering is studded with an illuminated Tata logo. Other features of the SUV include a 10-speaker JBL audio system, digital key, smart card, remote key, built-in navigation, memory seating, rear headrests, centre armrest with cupholders, a voice-assisted panoramic sunroof, a dual-zone climate control, cooled storage, an air purifier, ambient lighting, 65W wireless charging, and more.

While its BNCAP crash test results are yet to be published, the Tata Harrier EV is one of the safest electric SUVs around. It packs 7 airbags, ESP with i-VBAC, Acoustic Vehicle Alert System, Hill Descent Control, Hill Hold Assist, TPMS, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, a 360-degree camera, and an e-IVRM with a digital video recorder. The SUV is equipped with a Level 2 ADAS package with over 20 features.

Talking about the mechanics, the RWD variants of the Tata Harrier EV are powered by a rear-mounted single electric motor. This electric motor generates a maximum power output of 238hp. The RWD variants are equipped with a 65kWh battery pack. Meanwhile, the AWD come with a 75kWh battery pack and churn out 390hp and 594Nm.

The 75kWh battery pack offers 622km MIDC-certified range. The real-world range estimated by C75 is between 480-505km. Using a 120kW AC fast charger, the 75kWh battery pack can go from 20% to 80% in 25 minutes. A 7.2kW AC fast charger can take it from 10% to 100% in 10.7 hours. Meanwhile, a 15A plug point takes 29 hours to fully charge the battery pack.

Final Thoughts

The Tata Harrier EV is available in 4 paint shades – Nainital Nocturne, Empowered Oxide, Pristine White, and Pure Grey. Tata will also add a Stealth Edition to the SUV’s lineup. In India, the Harrier EV rivals the Mahindra XEV 9e, Mahindra BE 6, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, and Hyundai Creta Electric.
