The teaser video for the new Renault Duster shows the SUV under the wraps, with its LED DRLs and tail lamps illuminated. The illumination pattern hints at a new design for the DRLs. While the international-spec model uses Y-shaped units, the India version will have eyebrow-shaped DRLs bordering the headlamps. The teaser also reveals a sleek light bar connecting the tail lamps. However, the design of the tail lamps has not been revealed. It remains to be seen whether the India-spec version of the SUV will carry a Renault badge or the ‘DUSTER’ lettering on the front trim.
While the teaser does not reveal any details about the interior of the SUV, it isn’t expected to stray from its international counterpart. The Indian version might get more premium trims on the dashboard and door panels, but the layout and colour theme will remain unchanged. The international model comes with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch driver’s display. The infotainment system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The SUV also gets automatic climate control, rear AC vents, wireless charging, an Arkamys 3D sound system, and an ADAS package.
The international version of the Renault Duster is offered in 3 powertrain options – 1.0L petrol, 1.2L petrol mild hybrid, and 1.6L petrol strong hybrid. The 1.0-litre petrol engine is available with the entry-level variants of the SUV and produces a maximum power output of 120hp. The 1.2-litre petrol engine is linked to a 48V mild hybrid system. It generates a maximum power output of 130hp and 230Nm of torque. The 1.6-litre petrol engine is linked to a strong hybrid setup comprising 2 electric motors. It generates a maximum power output of 140hp and 205Nm of torque. It uses a 1.2kWh battery and regenerative braking. It remains to be seen which powertrain will be made available with the India-spec model. Renault India has confirmed that the Duster will get a strong hybrid powertrain in 2027.
