MG Windsor EV
MG Motor India is planning to update the Windsor EV with a bigger battery. The MG Windsor EV will likely get a bigger battery variant next month. The EV is available with a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) scheme as well. It comes in 3 variants – Excite, Exclusive, and Essence. The price of the non-BaaS models was hiked by up to Rs 50,000 in January.

The MG Windsor EV is a rebadged version of the Wuling Air EV that’s sold in Indonesia. The Windsor is available in a single 38kWh battery pack option in India. This battery pack offers a driving range of 331km on a full charge. It can be charged from 0-80% in 55 minutes using a 45kW charger. The 3.3kW and 7.7kW AC home chargers can fully replenish the battery in 14 hours and 6.5 hours, respectively. Meanwhile, the Wuling Air EV is available in a 50.6kWh battery pack.
The 50.6kWh battery pack of the Wuling Air EV is expected to be carried forward on the Windsor as well. On the Wuling Air, this battery pack offers a 460km driving range. The power specs of the Windsor are expected to remain the same. The front-axle-mounted electric motor on the EV produces a maximum power output of 136hp and 300Nm of torque.
The MG Windsor EV is decked with premium features. Its dashboard rocks a free-floating 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster. The infotainment system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The EV can seat 5 people. The ‘aero lounge’ seats can recline at an angle of 135 degrees.
Other features of the MG Windsor EV include ventilated front seats, rear AC vents, a powered driver’s seat, wireless charging, ambient lighting, a 9-speaker audio system, and a panoramic sunroof. On the safety front, the EV gets six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, parking cameras at the front and the rear, a 360-degree camera, and a Level 2 ADAS package.

Prices for the MG Windsor EV start at Rs 14 lakh and go up to Rs 16 lakh. There are 4 colour options on offer: Pearl White, Starburst Black, Turquoise Green, and Clay Beige. It rivals Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra XUV400, and Tata Nexon EV in India.
