MG Motor’s flagship SUV in India, the Gloster, has received two special edition models – Desertstorm and Snowstorm. Last month, the automaker launched special edition models for Hector, Astor, and ZS EV as a part of its 100-year anniversary celebrations. Interestingly, MG Gloster was the only offering left out from the special edition lineup.

The two new special edition models of the MG Gloster carry largely cosmetic upgrades. The Desertstorm edition flaunts a gold exterior colour theme and red accents on the headlamps. On top of that, the alloy wheels, wing mirrors, grille, and roof rails get black highlights. Inside, the Gloster Desertstorm rocks black upholstery along with red highlights on the stitching. Buyers can choose between a six or seven-seat layout.
The Snowstorm edition of MG Gloster receives a black and white colour theme for its exterior. The red accents can be found on the LED headlamps, wing mirrors, and front bumper. The spoiler, grille, alloy wheels, and foglamp receive black highlights. Like its Desertstorm counterpart, the Snowstorm edition gets black upholstery with red highlights on the stitching. It is only available in a six-seat layout.
There are no mechanical changes on the two special edition models of the MG Gloster. The 2.0-litre diesel engine is offered in a ‘turbo’ and ‘twin-turbo’ spec. The turbo engine can produce a maximum power of 161bhp and 375Nm peak torque, while the twin-turbo engine can generate a maximum power of 215bhp and 380Nm peak torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Both SUVs are available in 2WD and 4WD configurations.

Prices for the MG Gloster currently start at Rs 38.80 lakh and go up to Rs 43.87 lakh. The two new special editions are priced at Rs 41.05 lakh. The Gloster is also available in a Blackstorm edition. The SUV rivals the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Mahindra Alturas G4, Isuzu MU-X, Jeep Meridian, Hyundai Tucson, and Kia Carnival.
