Maruti Suzuki Fronx ‘Velocity’ Edition expanded to more variants

The Velocity Edition of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx is now available for more variants of the SUV at attractive pricing. At the time of launch, the Velocity Edition was only available with the turbo petrol engine variants of the Fronx. Now, it has been expanded to 14 variants including the NA petrol and CNG powertrains. Prices for the Maruti Suzuki Fronx Velocity Edition start at Rs 7.29 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx Velocity Edition: What’s on offer?

The Velocity Edition of Maruti Suzuki Fronx adds new accessories to the SUV. The 1.2L Sigma variants of the SUV get a special red and black garnish on the front bumper, headlamp, wheel arches, and grille. The Delta, Delta+, and Delta+ (O) variants get an illuminated door sill guard, an upper rear extended spoiler, designer door mats finished in red, red inserts in the side moulding, an OVRM cover, and more.

The 1.0L turbo petrol Delta+ variants get a NexCross finish for the back seating, a carbon finish interior styling kit, and a 3D boot mat. The Alpha and Zeta variants get all upgrades of the Delta+ variant as well as a NexCross Bordeaux finish on the seat covers.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx is available in three powertrain options. Baleno’s discontinued Boosterjet engine makes a return on the Fronx. This 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine can produce a maximum power output of 100hp and 147Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

Also on offer is the 1.2-litre K Series naturally aspirated petrol engine that can produce a maximum power output of 90hp and 113Nm peak torque. This engine can also be mated to a 5-speed manual or automatic gearbox. 

The CNG variants of the  Maruti Suzuki Fronx are based on the 1.2L petrol variants. This engine produces a maximum power output of 77.5hp and 98.5Nm of torque in a CNG guise. The Fronx CNG delivers a mileage of 28.51 km/kg. Like all of Maruti’s CNG offerings, the Fronx CNG is offered in just a 5-speed manual transmission option.

In terms of features, the compact SUV gets a 9.0-inch Smart Pro Play+ infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Head Up Display, wireless charging, and a 360-degree camera.

Conclusion

Prices for the regular Fronx lineup start at Rs 7.51 lakh and go up to Rs 13.04 lakh. It is available in seven colour options – Arctic White, Earthen Brown, Opulent Red, Splendid Silver, Bluish Black, Celestial Blue, and Grandeur Grey.  In India, Maruti Suzuki Fronx rivals Tata Punch, Citroen C3, Hyundai Exter, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger.
