After several production setbacks, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara finally went on sale in India on February 17, 2026. A week after launch, the automaker has revealed the waiting period for its debut all-electric offering. The delivery rollout will take until July to come into full swing. Until then, the deliveries will be constrained. Buyers can book their model for a token amount of Rs 21,000.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Same waiting period for all variants
The e Vitara comes in 3 trim levels – Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. Maruti has revealed that the entry-level Delta trim is in the most demand. However, all three trims demand the same waiting period of 6 to 8 weeks. There are 7 exterior paint shades on offer – Nexa Blue, Bluish Black, Grandeur Grey, Arctic White, Land Breeze Green, Opulent Red, and Splendid Silver. The latter four shades are available in dual-tone themes. The Opulent Red and Bluish Black variants have a 2-month waiting period, while the others demand a 1.5-month wait.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara comes in 2 battery pack sizes – 49kWh and 61kWh. The entry-level Delta variant comes exclusively with the smaller battery pack. All three trims are powered by a front-mounted electric motor. The 49kWh variants generate a maximum power output of 144hp and can go up to 440km on a full charge. Meanwhile, the 61kWh variants put out 174hp and have a 543km driving range. The torque produced is identical for all variants – 189Nm.
In terms of features, the electric SUV packs a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. There is support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include ambient lighting, ventilated front seating, a 10-way powered driver’s seat, sliding and reclining functions for rear seats, a glass sunroof, an Infinity sound system, and more. The interior has a black-and-brown dual-tone colour theme.
The e Vitara was awarded a 5-star safety rating by the Bharat NCAP. It offers 7 airbags as a standard feature across all variants. Other safety features include a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and more. The Level 2 ADAS package comprises functions like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), and more.

Final Thoughts
Prices for the standard models of the e Vitara start at Rs 15.99 lakh and go up to Rs 20.01 lakh. The BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service) models start at Rs 10.99 lakh and go up to Rs 14.51 lakh. The subscription cost has been set at Rs 3.99/km for the entry-level Delta trim and Rs 4.39/km for the remaining trims. The electric SUV rivals the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, Vinfast VF 6, and MG Windsor EV in India.
