Maruti Suzuki Dzire launched in India at a starting price of Rs 6.79 lakh

Maruti Suzuki has launched the next-gen Dzire sedan in India at a starting price of Rs 6.79 lakh. The 4th-gen Maruti Suzuki Dzire is available in 4 trim levels – LXI, VXI, ZXI, and ZXI+. There are a total of 9 variants on offer. Maruti has also launched the CNG version of the sedan alongside the petrol models. The CNG powertrain is available on VXI and ZXI trims. The automaker will continue selling the current-gen Dzire as the Tour S.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire stands at dimensions of 3,995mm x 1,735mm, 1,525mm and has a 2,450mm wheelbase. Its exterior design is radically different from its hatchback sibling, Swift. The front fascia of the sedan features sleek LED headlamps which are integrated with crystal-like elements. Maruti calls them ‘Crystal Vision’ headlamps. The slim LED DRLs are positioned around the upper grille. The new grille is wider and has six horizontal slats. The topmost slat receives a glossy black finish and a chrome border.

Along the sides, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire is highlighted by strong character lines running across the body. The sedan is available in 14-inch and 15-inch two-tone, precision-cut alloy wheels. At the back, the Dzire gets 3D Trinity tail lamps. It is available in 3 new colour options – Alluring Blue, Gallant Red, and Nutmeg Brown.

Inside, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire shares its design and cabin layout with the Switch hatchback. The dual-tone dashboard features beige and black colour tones along with silver accents. In terms of features, the Dzire gets a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Arkamys surround sound, a 4.2-inch coloured MID, cruise control, USB fast charger, rear AC vents, keyless entry, a 360-degree camera, and electric sunroof, and wireless charging. 

Safety features on the Dzire include 6 airbags, ESP, hill hold assist, ABS with EBD, brake assist, 3-point seatbelts with reminders for all passengers, and more. The sedan recently scored a 5-star rating in the Global NCAP crash tests.

Under the hood, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire is powered by the same 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, Z12E petrol engine as the Swift. This engine produces a maximum power output of 80hp and 112Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox. With a manual transmission, this engine offers a mileage of 24.79kmpl. Automatic variants of the sedan offer a fuel economy of 25.71kmpl.

The CNG version of the sedan generates a maximum power output of 69hp and 102Nm of torque. The CNG variants are available with a manual gearbox only. They offer a fuel economy of 33.73km/kg.

Conclusion

Bookings for the Maruti Suzuki Dzire are currently open for a token amount of Rs 11,000. The sedan can also be owned through Maruti Suzuki Subscribe, with EMI options starting at Rs 18,248. The Dzire rivals Tata Tigor, Hyundai Aura, and Honda Amaze in India.
