Maruti Suzuki’s next-gen compact sedan, Dzire, has garnered more than 30,000 bookings in less than a month since its launch. The 4th-generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire was launched in India on November 11, 2024, at a starting price of Rs 6.79 lakh. The sedan is available in 4 trims – LXI, VXI, ZXI, and ZXI+, with the ZXI and ZXI+ trims attracting the most demand.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Off to a flying start
Maruti Suzuki is reportedly receiving 1,000 bookings for the new Dzire per day, doubling the demand for the previous-gen version of the sedan. The top two trims, ZXI and ZXI+, have garnered over 50% of the total bookings. As a result, these two trims have a waiting period of 3 months for their automatic variants and 2 months for the manual variants. The LXI and VXI variants demand a waiting period of 2-4 weeks. The CNG variant has a 3-month waiting period.
Talking about the features, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire flaunts a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Arkamys surround sound, a 4.2-inch coloured MID, cruise control, USB fast charger, rear AC vents, keyless entry, a 360-degree camera, an electric sunroof, and wireless charging. Its interior layout is similar to its hatchback sibling, Swift.
In terms of safety, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire gets 6 airbags, ESP, hill hold assist, ABS with EBD, brake assist, 3-point seatbelts with reminders for all passengers, and more. The sedan was crash-tested by the Global NCAP and received a 5-star safety rating.
Powering the Maruti Suzuki Dzire is the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, Z12E petrol engine. This engine also powers the new-gen Swift hatchback. It produces a maximum power output of 80hp and 112Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox. With a manual transmission, this engine offers a mileage of 24.79kmpl. Automatic variants of the sedan offer a fuel economy of 25.71kmpl.
