Mahindra XUV 7XO: A look at the triple-screen setup
The new Mahindra XUV 7XO teaser confirms a triple-screen setup for the SUV. It becomes Mahindra’s first ICE SUV to get this mammoth display system. The all-electric XEV 9e and XEV 9S are the only other offerings in Mahindra’s portfolio to rock this setup. The XUV 7XO’s triple-screen setup will most likely consist of three 12.3-inch displays. These displays will cater to the digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment system, and passenger entertainment system.
The teaser also gives a glimpse of the new two-spoke steering wheel. It is similar to the one found in Mahindra’s Born Electric EVs. The XUV 7XO’s steering wheel will carry the ‘Twin Peaks’ illuminated logo instead of the Infinity emblem found on Mahindra’s premium all-electric SUVs. The cabin of the upcoming ICE SUV appears to have a dual-tone colour theme with a beige and black look. The facelift model does not have physical controls for the HVAC. Instead, the centre console has a bunch of capacitive touch buttons for the 360-degree camera, drive modes, hazard lights, and other functions. The SUV will likely get BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) support for its rear seats. Features like auto-dimming IVRMs, ambient lighting, automatic climate control, wireless charging, connected car tech, and Level 2 ADAS are also expected to make the cut.
No changes will be made under the hood of the SUV. The Mahindra XUV 7XO will continue to be offered in 2 engine options. The 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 200hp and 380Nm of torque. The 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine is available in two tune levels. The entry-level variants put out 155hp and 360Nm of torque, while the top-spec variants generate 185hp and 420Nm. The torque output jumps to 450Nm on the automatic variants. Both engines can be paired with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.
