Mahindra XEV 9S and XUV 7XO garner 93,689 bookings in one day

The XEV 9S will start reaching customers from next week.

The booking window for the Mahindra XEV 9S and XUV 7XO was opened yesterday. The automaker received 93,689 bookings for the two electric SUVs by 2 pm. This puts the combined booking value over Rs 20,500 crore. The XEV 9S was launched in India back in November 2025 at an introductory price of Rs 19.96 lakh. Meanwhile, the XUV 7XO hit the market earlier this month at a starting price of Rs 13.66 lakh.

A strong start for the Mahindra XEV 9S and XUV 7XO 

Mahindra first started accepting bookings for XUV 7XO on December 15, 2025. After selling out the first batch, the automaker started accepting a fresh round of bookings yesterday. This coincided with the commencement of the first booking window for the XEV 9S.

The Mahindra XEV 9S comes in 3 battery pack options – 59kWh, 70kWh, and 79kWh. The entry-level ‘Pack One Above’ trim is powered by a rear-mounted electric motor, which produces a maximum power output of 231hp on the 59kWh variant and 286hp on the 79kWh one. These battery packs can go up to 521km (59kWh) and 679km (79kWh) on a full charge. The mid-spec ‘Pack Two Above’ trim also comes with a 70kWh battery variant, which puts out 245hp and goes up to 600km on a full charge. The 7.2kW and 11.2kW home chargers are priced at Rs 50,000 and Rs 75,000, respectively. The EV also supports up to 180kW fast charging.

The XUV 7XO, a facelifted version of the XUV700, comes in turbo-petrol and diesel engine options. The 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 200hp and 380Nm of torque. The 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine is available in two tune levels. The entry-level variants put out 155hp and 360Nm of torque, while the top-spec variants generate 185hp and 420Nm. The torque output jumps to 450Nm on the automatic variants. Both engines can be paired with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.

The XEV 9S comes in 6 variants, with prices starting at Rs 19.95 lakh and going up to Rs 29.45 lakh. Meanwhile, the XUV 7XO has 8 variants and 2 seating layouts. Its prices start at Rs 13.66 lakh and go up to Rs 24.92 lakh.

Final Thoughts

Mahindra has started the delivery rollout of the XUV 7XO. The first batch of units will be delivered to customers who booked the SUV in December. The XEV 9S will start reaching customers on January 26, 2026. The delivery rollout of the newly-launched XUV 3XO EV will begin on February 23, 2026.
