Mahindra Thar available with year-end discounts worth more than Rs 3 lakh

Mahindra is offering massive year-end discounts on its 3-door lifestyle SUV this month. Discounts are up for grabs on the 2WD as well as 4WD variants of Mahindra Thar. The 4WD Thar gets the bigger discount package. The lifestyle SUV is available in 3 engine options. Meanwhile, no discounts have been offered on the 5-door Thar Roxx which was launched earlier this year.

Mahindra Thar 4WD

Maximum Discount: Rs 3.06 lakh

The Mahindra Thar Earth Edition, which was launched earlier this year, has received the biggest discount package this month. This special edition is based on the LX variant of the SUV. Buyers can get up to Rs 3.06 lakh off on the Earth Edition. It features the new ‘Desert Fury’ matte paint shade and exclusive ‘Earth’ badging on the rear fender. Inside, the Thar Earth Edition’s upholstery is available in a beige and black colour option. The headrests have graphics in the shape of sand dunes on them. The steering wheel, AC vents, door pads, and centre console also receive special accents with Mahindra branding.

The Earth Edition of Mahindra Thar is priced between Rs 15.40 lakh – Rs 17.60 lakh. Meanwhile, the standard Thar 4WD range is available with discounts worth up to Rs 1.06 lakh. Prices for the Thar 4WD start at Rs 14.30 lakh and go up to Rs 17.20 lakh.

Mahindra Thar 2WD

Maximum Discount: Rs 1.31 lakh

Petrol variants of the Mahindra Thar 2WD are available with discounts worth up to Rs 1.31 lakh. The diesel variants get up to Rs 56,000 off. Prices for the 2WD variants start at Rs 11.35 lakh and go up to Rs 14.10 lakh. The 1.5-litre diesel engine found in the entry-level variants offers a maximum power output of 118hp and 300Nm torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The base variants are only available in 2WD.

The 2.0-litre petrol engine puts out 152hp and 300Nm while the 2.2-litre diesel engine produces 130hp and 300Nm. These engines are offered with a 6-speed manual as well as automatic transmission. The diesel variant is exclusively available in a 4WD configuration, while the petrol engine gets a 2WD option as well.
