Mahindra has internally greenlit the production of its BE.07 concept SUV. The confirmation took place at the automaker’s quarterly earnings call. The Mahindra BE.07 was first showcased in August 2022. The electric SUV was initially scheduled to launch in October 2026. Given production constraints, Mahindra will introduce the SUV in India next year.

Mahindra BE.07: What to expect?
The BE.07 will be positioned above the Mahindra BE 6 in the automaker’s portfolio. It will be the fourth EV in Mahindra’s Born Electric catalogue, following the XEV 9e, BE 6, and XEV 9S. The electric SUV will replicate the dimensions of the concept model, flaunting a length of 4.6 metres and seating 5 people inside. It will build upon the design language established by the BE 6.

Mahindra’s INGLO platform will underpin the BE.07. This is the same architecture found on the rest of the Born Electric range. The new EV will likely be offered in 2 battery pack options – 60kWh and 80kWh. The BE 6 offers a 556km driving range with the 59kWh battery pack and 682km with the 79kWh battery. Both variants are powered by a rear-mounted single electric motor. The 59kWh variants generate a maximum power output of 231hp and 380Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the 79kWh variants put out 286hp and 380Nm.

Inside, the BE.07 will be decked with premium features. It will likely carry forward the triple-screen setup of the XEV 9e. This panoramic setup comprises three 12.3-inch screens, one each for the touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, and passenger entertainment display. Other features like the VisionX augmented-reality Heads Up Display, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, wireless charging, a Harmon Kardon audio system, Level 2 ADAS, multiple drive modes, and more are also expected to make the cut.

The XUV 3XO EV will be Mahindra’s only all-electric offering in 2026. The compact electric SUV was launched in India last month at a starting price of Rs 13.89 lakh. It is powered by a front-mounted single electric motor that generates a maximum power output of 150hp and 310Nm of torque. The SUV is equipped with a 39.4kWh battery pack that can go up to 285km on a single full charge. A 50kW DC fast charger takes up to 50 minutes to charge the SUV from 0 to 80%. There are 3 drive modes on offer – Fun, Fast and Fearless.
