Honda Elevate crosses sales milestone of 20,000 units 100 days after launch

Honda’s debut midsize SUV in India, Elevate, has sold over 20,000 units within the first 100 days of its launch. Honda Elevate was launched in India on September 4. The SUV is manufactured locally in the country. Honda will soon be launching it in Japan as the WR-V. The automaker will ship 40,000 units of the Elevate to Japan next year. Prices for the SUV start at Rs 11 lakh and go up to Rs 16.20 lakh.

Honda Elevate: A success in a hotly contested segment

Accumulating more than 20,000 units within 100 days of its launch, the Elevate has accounted for over 50% of Honda Car India Ltd.’s sales during the last 3 months. The company has grown its sales by 11% in this period. Honda Elevate went into production in July 2023.

Mr Yuichi Murata, Director of Marketing and Sales at Honda Cars India Ltd., stated, “We are thrilled to witness the remarkable success of the Honda Elevate, which has surpassed our expectations. The 20,000 sales milestone of Elevate in the first 100 days of launch is a proud moment for us and reflects the trust & preference of our valued customers, making us a notable contender in the industry. Furthermore, we have maximised the production of the Elevate to serve our waiting customers as early as possible and adjusted the variant mix to align with the market demand which is overwhelmingly high for CVT variants currently.”

Honda Elevate is available in four variants – SV, V, VX, and ZX. It stands at dimensions of 4,312mm x 1,790mm x 1,650mm, with a wheelbase of 2,650mm. It clears the ground at 220mm. The front fascia of the SUV is marked by a muscular nose and a wide radiator grille. The LED headlamps and DRLs flanking either side of the grille are connected by a chrome bar.

Under the hood, Honda Elevate gets a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces a maximum power output of 121hp and 145Nm of torque. This engine can be mated to a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. Manual variants of Honda Elevate offer a fuel efficiency of 15.31kmpl while the CVT variants put up a mileage of 16.92kmpl.

Talking about the features, Honda Elevate comes with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a single-pane sunroof, an 8-speaker surround sound system, and a Honda Sensing ADAS package. The base trim gets an automatic AC unit, beige upholstery, dual airbags, push start/stop button, and more.

Conclusion

Honda Elevate is available in 7 single-tone and 3 dual-tone colour options. An all-electric version of the Elevate is reportedly in the works. It will hit the Indian market in 2025. For now, the ICE variant of Honda Elevate rivals the Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Kia Seltos, Citroen C3 Aircross, Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
