The Honda City just got a fresh new pit stop in its lineup—the all-new ‘Sport’ variant, now zooming in at Rs 14.89 lakh. Wedged neatly between the V and VX trims, the City Sport is Honda’s latest attempt at adding a dash of style without tinkering under the hood. It’s strictly a limited edition, so if you blink, you might miss it. Expect some sporty cosmetic tweaks, but don’t go looking for a new engine tune—this City’s running on familiar mechanicals.

Honda City Sport: What’s on offer?
The big changes on the Honda City Sport come in the form of cosmetic updates. The sedan gets an all-black grille, trunk lip spoiler, OVRMs, and shark fin antenna. It also receives an exclusive ‘Sport’ emblem that distinguishes it from the rest of the lineup. Colour options, you ask? There are 3 colour options on offer: Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, and Meteoroid Gray Metallic.
Inside, the Honda City Sport gets all-black leather seats with contrasting red stitching. The doors, roofs, and pillars are blacked out, too. The red highlights can also be found on the dashboard, door inserts, and steering wheel. The AC vents are finished in glossy black plastic. In terms of features, the sporty sedan gets 7-colour ambient lighting, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless entry, ADAS, and more. The big misses are the sunroof, rear AC vents, automatic wipers, and the 7-inch digital instrument cluster.
Things remain the same under the hood as the Honda City Sport gets the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine as the rest of the lineup. This engine produces a maximum power output of 121hp and 145Nm of torque. It is mated to a CVT gearbox with paddle shifters. The sedan delivers a mileage of 18.4km/l.

Final Thoughts
Prices for the regular Honda City lineup start at Rs 12.38 lakh for the entry-level SV variant and go up to Rs 16.65 lakh for the top-spec ZX CVT variant. The Sport variant is not available with a manual gearbox. Having said that, this sedan rivals the Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz in India.
