BYD India has launched the Sealion 7 EV at a starting price of Rs 48.90 lakh. BYD Sealion 7 made its debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo last month. Since then, the EV has garnered over 1,000 bookings. It is available in 2 variants – Premium and Performance. The top-spec variant fetches Rs 54.90 lakh. BYD will commence the delivery rollout on March 7.

The front fascia of BYD Sealion 7 follows the ‘Ocean X’ design language established by the automaker. The Seal EV also follows this styling pattern. The Sealion 7 has a clean and aerodynamic profile with smooth-flowing lines. In contrast, its sleek LED headlamps and tail lamps exude a fierce and sporty look. The front and rear bumpers have a bold design that matches this aesthetic. The Sealion 7 is 4,830mm long and has a 2,930mm wheelbase.
Inside, the BYD Sealion 7 gets a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system, a free-floating digital instrument cluster, a heads-up display, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and heated seating, 12 Dynaudio speakers, 50W wireless charging, ambient lighting with 128 colour options, premium quilted Nappa leather seats, and more. In terms of safety features, the SUV gets a 360 camera, 11 airbags, and an ADAS package. Both variants have the same list of features.
The Premium variant of the SUV has an RWD configuration while the AWD tech is only available on the top-spec Performance variant. The base variant generates a maximum power output of 313hp and 380Nm of torque. It can go from 0-100kmph in 6.7 seconds. Meanwhile, the Performance variant puts out 530hp and 690Nm while going from 0-100kmph in just 4.5 seconds. Both variants are equipped with an 82.56kWh battery pack. The Premium variant has a driving range of 567km while the Performance variant can go up to 542km on a full charge.

The Sealion 7 is the fourth BYD offering in India following ATTO 3, eMAX 7, and SEAL. It is available in four colour options – Aurora White, Atlantis Grey, Shark Grey, and Cosmos Black. Buyers can book their model for a token amount of Rs 70,000. The electric SUV rivals the Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Volvo EX40 in India.
