After taking the covers off the Audi Q8 facelift last month, the automaker has now launched the SUV coupe globally. Indian buyers will have to wait for a while as the Q8 facelift is expected to arrive in the country in the second half of 2024. The facelifted SUV coupe gets slight changes to the design and some changes under the hood.

The new Audi Q8 gets new vertical slats for the Singleframe octagonal grille. The new air intakes are now located at the lower fascia of the SUV coupe, distinguishing the flagship Q8 from other Audi offerings. The sportier SQ8 variant also features a redesigned front lip spoiler and rear diffuser. Along the sides, the Q8 facelift gets frameless doors and the roofline ends in gently inclined D pillars. These D pillars are supported by wide wheel arches at the base. In profile, the Q8 looks unmistakably like an Audi.

The Black Optic package for the Audi Q8 facelift contains gloss black accents for the mask surrounding the grille, the trim on the side windows, and on the front and rear fascias. The model number and other branding have been etched into the B pillar. The SUV coupe also gets HD Matrix-design LED headlights with LED DRLs integrated into the upper horizontal edge. Users can select one of the four individual light signatures for the DRLs via the MMI. The Prestige trim of SQ8 also gets digitalised OLED rear lights. These rear lights are connected by an LED light strip.

Under the hood, the Audi Q8 facelift gets a 3.0-litre turbocharged TFSI V6 engine that generates a maximum power output of 335hp and 500Nm of torque. The Q8 facelift can go from 0-96 kmph in 5.5 seconds. The SQ8 trim gets a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged TFSI V8 engine that produces a maximum power output of 500hp and 770Nm of torque. The SQ8 can go from 0-96 kmph in 4 seconds.

Conclusion

The Audi Q8 and SQ8 facelifts are expected to arrive in India in the second half of 2024. It is unlikely that it will demand a huge premium over the outgoing model. Expect the Audi Q8 facelift to be priced at around Rs 1.20 crore in India. Upon launch, the SUV coupe will rival the likes of Porsche Cayenne Coupe and Lexus RX.
