Skoda India initiated the delivery rollout phase of its newest compact SUV, Kylaq, earlier this week. It has now been revealed that Skoda Kylaq buyers face waiting periods of up to 4 months for the SUV. The automaker will manufacture 33,000 units of the Kylaq in the first stage of production. It is available with a manual gearbox only. The mid-spec Signature variant has a 3-4 month waiting period, depending on the colour option chosen by the buyer. Meanwhile, the top-spec Signature+ and Prestige variants have a 2-3 month waiting period.

Here is the price list for Skoda Kylaq.

Variant Petrol Manual Petrol Automatic
Classic Rs 7.89 lakh
Signature Rs 9.59 lakh Rs 10.59 lakh
Signature+ Rs 11.40 lakh Rs 12.40 lakh
Prestige Rs 13.35 lakh Rs 14.40 lakh

Skoda Kylaq is powered by a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine. This engine generates a maximum power output of 115hp and 178Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. As we mentioned earlier, the automatic gearbox is not available on the entry-level Classic variant. However, Skoda may add an automatic transmission option for this trim later down the line. The Kylaq can go from 0 to 100 kph in just 10.5 seconds. Its top speed is capped at 188kmph.

In terms of features, the Skoda Kylaq packs a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an 8-inch digital instrument cluster. Skoda has designed a new OS for this infotainment system. It will feature in subsequent Skoda offerings as well. Other features of the SUV include six-way electric seats with ventilation, cruise control, steering-mounted paddle shifters, electric sunroof, and more. It was crash-tested by the Bharat NCAP recently and received a 5-star safety rating.
