2027 Hyundai Creta spotted testing

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) is planning to introduce the next-gen model of its best-selling midsize SUV next year. The 2027 Hyundai Creta was spotted testing recently. The spy shots revealed crucial details about the SUV’s cosmetics as well as the interior layout. The current facelifted version of the Creta was launched in January 2024.

2027 Hyundai Creta: What do the spy shots suggest?

The test mule of the next-gen Hyundai Creta that was spotted on a road test was draped in heavy camouflage. However, its wheels were left completely uncovered, which gave us an unhindered view of the new 19-inch dual-tone alloys. The new premium design is a big upgrade over the wheels on the current-gen model. They have a bolder stance and a wider track.

The profile of the SUV looks bigger and bulkier than the current model. While the exact dimensions of the new model remain unknown, it appears longer than its current version. The 2027 Creta will command a dominating road presence. We expect the future test mules to reveal more details about the SUV’s front fascia and LED DRL design.

The spy shots give a glimpse of the interior setup as well, although the dashboard remains completely hidden. The controls of the electrically adjustable front passenger seat are accessible to the rear passengers. This suggests that the seat can be moved forward and reclined by the person seated in the rear row to make more legroom. The seats are draped in premium leatherette upholstery. A closer look at the second row reveals adjustable headrests and seat controls. The rear AC vents can be spotted between the two front seats. Overall, the interior looks quite plush.

No changes are expected under the hood, as the 2027 Hyundai Creta will continue with the 3 engine options offered by the current model. The 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines generate a maximum power output of 115hp. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine puts out 160hp. All three engines can be mated to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed DCT gearbox.

Final Thoughts

The Hyundai Creta is one of the highest-selling midsize SUVs in India. In 2025 alone, Hyundai sold over 2 lakh units, making it the most successful year for the SUV. The next-gen model will make upgrades on the touchscreen infotainment system, digital driver display, connected car tech, and ADAS, further boosting sales. The current model is priced between Rs 10.79 lakh and Rs 20.20 lakh. The new model will demand a small premium over these prices. Upon launch, it will rival the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate, Citroen Aircross, and Skoda Kushaq.
