2022 Mahindra KUV100 Ev spied testing

Another Indian company is all set to push out its Electric vehicle lineup. The 2022 Mahindra KUV100 Ev was spotted testing and this time the car looks production-ready. The car was first showcased in AutoExpo 2020 and since then the car has been long-awaited by Indian consumers. There is a lot of talk surfacing over the micro UV as it has faced multiple delays first due to global pandemic and now chip shortage. But now, after spotting the almost production-ready undisguised mule we can say that the wait is almost over.

If priced aggressively by the company the car can become the most affordable Electric car in India which will give tough competition to its native rival Tata. Clicked by Chaitanya Pise, we can clearly see the car being tested on roads without any sort of camouflage. The design of the car is identical to the currently on sale engine counterpart. However, there are some cosmetic changes and styling to make it look distinct.

In the front, we can see that the grill is closed making it surely an EV. Replacing it is a small arrow-shaped design with a blue paint scheme in some of them. The charging port is located in both front fenders of which one is exclusively for AC charging and the other is combined for both AC and DC. The shape of the headlights is identical while the tail light cluster is a complete redesign by the company.

We can also see some blue touch-ups on the headlights and taillights making it look even more distinct than its fossil fuel burner counterpart. More EV details consist of the Plus and Minus sign on the chrome trim placed above the number plate which is a clear symbol of positive and negative signs of batteries. The alloy wheels are slightly changed as well with a little different colour scheme flaunting the EV tech used in the car.

2022 Mahindra eKUV 100 uses a 40kW electric motor drawing energy from a 15.9kWh battery pack. This electric powertrain produces an output of 40 bhp of max power and 120 Nm of peak torque. The power figures are likely to change in the final production-ready car. In the Auto Expo, it was also mentioned that the car will claim a range of around 140km with a single charge cycle. The battery takes 5 hours plus time for charging with a normal AC charger and when a fast DC charger is used it can complete 00-80 percent in just under 1 hour. Apon launch the car will compete against Tata’s upcoming Punch EV.
