Hyundai Bayon: What’s on offer?

The Bayon draws design inspiration from the Hyundai Tucson. It follows the automaker’s ‘Art of Steel’ design language. The dimensions of the SUV are not known yet, but it will be larger than the sub-4m Venue. Its front fascia gets a clean look with sleek LED DRLs and a split LED headlamp setup. The DRLs are connected by a glossy black trim running across the bonnet. The bumper has a silver frame housing the central air dam.

The profile of the Hyundai Bayon looks muscular, thanks to the flared wheel arches and prominent character lines. There’s black cladding along the wheel arches. The alloy wheels have a petal-like design. The blacked-out pillars give the roof a floating effect. At the back, the taillamps look similar to the DRLs up front. They are connected by a sleek black trim as well. There’s ‘BAYON’ lettering on the tailgate.

Inside, the Bayon features dual 12.3-inch displays on the dashboard. These panels cater to the touchscreen infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster. There’s wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity on board. It also gets HMIL’s first-ever Generative AI voice assistant powered by Perplexity AI and SoundHound AI. The automaker’s Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) handles the software duties. The Bluelink connected car tech suite has over 70 functions, including remote start/stop, remote vehicle controls, smartphone/smarwatch connectivity, connected vehicle information, and more.

Powering the Hyundai Bayon is the same 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that powers the Creta SUV. It generates a maximum power output of 115hp and 144Nm of torque. The engine can be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT).
