Along the sides, the 18-inch alloy wheels are finished in black, while the black roof gets the dual-tone treatment. At the back, the tailgate gets a black trim. The special edition model is available in 3 exterior paint shades – Super White, Platinum White Pearl, and Attitude Black.

Inside, the Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition’s cabin gets dual-tone black and maroon seat upholstery. The door trims match the black-maroon colour theme. Other features include ambient lighting, illuminated scuff plates, auto-folding Outside Rear View Mirrors (ORVMs), and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

No changes have been made under the hood of the special edition SUV. The Leader Edition uses the same 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine as the standard model of the Fortuner. It generates a maximum power output of 204hp and 500Nm of torque when it is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The torque output on the manual variants drops to 420Nm. The special edition model is available in a 4×2 drive configuration only.

Mr Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, “The Fortuner has always represented confidence, capability and a spirit of achievement. With the new Leader Edition of the Fortuner, we are further defining this legacy through exterior enhancements and convenience features that reflect the aspirations of today’s customers. As we continue to align with changing trends, it is our endeavour to continuously evolve the Fortuner experience while staying true to the inherent qualities that have made them iconic. We are confident that the Leader Edition will further strengthen our commitment to delivering ever-better cars and creating Mass Happiness for All.”
