The updated version of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno was launched last week at a starting price of Rs 6.10 lakh. The automaker has now published the prices of all the variants of the hatchback. Interestingly, the price of the entry-level variant has been revised from Rs 6.10 lakh to Rs 5.99 lakh. The top-spec model fetches Rs 9.99 lakh. There are 5 trims on offer – Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha, and Alpha (O).

The Baleno facelift ditches the 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder ‘K12N’ petrol engine of the outgoing model for the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated ‘Z12E’ petrol engine. The latter is also found on the current-gen Swift and Dzire. It generates a maximum power output of 83hp and 112Nm of torque, and can be mated to a 5-speed manual or AMT. In a CNG guise, the hatchback churns out 70hp and 102Nm. The CNG model is only available with a 5-speed manual transmission.

When it comes to fuel economy, the petrol-manual variants offer a mileage of 23.80km/l. The petrol-AMT models offer a slightly improved mileage of 23.80km/l. Meanwhile, the CNG-MT variants are the most economical, with a mileage of 33.61km/kg.

In terms of creature comforts, the Baleno facelift gets a wireless charger with a cooling panel, a Clarion sound system, and ventilated front seats. It retains the 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and the MID instrument cluster from the outgoing model. There is wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity on board.

The biggest feature addition on the 2026 Baleno is the Level 2 ADAS package. This suite comprises functions like Advanced Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Prevention, Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, High Beam Assist (HBA), Vehicle Sway Warning and Forward Collision Warning. Other general safety features like 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Program, ABS with EBD, Emergency Stop Signal, Hill Hold Control, Reverse Parking Sensors, 3-Point Seat Belts, Seat Belt Reminders, and TPMS are also present on the hatchback.

Final Thoughts

Buyers can book their unit of the Baleno for a token amount of Rs 11,000. Its Toyota cousin, Glanza, will also get a facelift model next month. The hatchback rivals Tata Altroz, Toyota Glanza, and Hyundai i20 in India.
