The Mahindra XEV 9S has been updated with a 6-seat model. The new layout is available in 3 trim levels – Pack Two Above, Pack Three, and Pack Three Above. The entry-level Pack One Above trim misses out on the new layout. The XEV 9S was launched last year as Mahindra’s first 3-row electric SUV. Its 6-seater range starts at Rs 25.25 lakh and goes up to Rs 30.15 lakh.

Mahindra XEV 9S 6-seat: What’s on offer?
Here is the price list for the 6-seater XEV 9S.

The 6-seater XEV 9S gets individual captain seats on all three rows. The middle-row seats have individual armrests. They can be flipped upwards to make the passage to the third row wider. The 6-seater model has slightly better legroom for the third-row passengers.
No other changes have been made to the XEV 9S. It continues to offer a triple-screen panoramic setup with 12.3-inch panels. There’s wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support on board. Other features include a 16-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos, Groove Me mode for karaoke, Vision X (Augmented Reality HUD), built-in Alexa and ChatGPT, in-vehicle 5G connectivity, an in-car camera with video calling, a panoramic sunroof, an air purifier, ventilated seats (front and rear), wireless charging and more. The middle-row seats support Bring Your Own Device (BYOD).
Safety features of the EV include 7 airbags, ISOFIX for rear seats, ESP, Driver Drowsiness Detection with DOMS, Secure360 Pro for live view and recording, and a Level 2 ADAS package with 5 radars and 1 vision camera. The ADAS suite comprises features like Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Smart Pilot Assist, Traffic Alert, and more.

No mechanical changes have been made to the EV either. It continues to be offered in 3 battery sizes – 59kWh, 70kWh, and 79kWh. The 59kWh battery pack comes with the entry-level Pack Above Trim, which is not available with the 6-seat layout. The 70kWh battery pack offers a 600km driving range, while the 79kWh variants can go up to 679km on a full charge. The single-electric motor generates a maximum power output of 245hp and 286hp on the 70kWh and 79kWh variants, respectively. All variants put out 380Nm of torque.

Final Thoughts
The standard XEV 9S range starts at Rs 19.95 lakh. The 11.2kW AC home charger demands a small premium. The EV rivals Kia Carens Clavis EV, Tata Harrier EV, and BYD eMax 7 in India.
