MG Motor India has refreshed the Hector SUV with a facelift. Prices for the new MG Hector facelift start at Rs 11.99 lakh, making it Rs 2 lakh cheaper than the outgoing model. The SUV comes in 5 trim levels – Style, Select Pro, Smart Pro, Sharp Pro, and Savvy Pro. The top-spec variant fetches Rs 18.99 lakh. Meanwhile, the Hector Plus is priced between Rs 17.29 lakh and Rs 19.49 lakh.

The front fascia of the new Hector SUV has received some interesting updates. The wide grille features a new honeycomb design. The outgoing model had a diamond pattern. The design of the air dam below the grille has also been tweaked. The LED headlamp and DRL design remains unchanged. The profile of the SUV reveals a new look for the 18-inch alloy wheels. The LED tail lamp design has also been retained.
The MG Hector facelift can seat 5 people. The Hector Plus model gets the option of 6 and 7-seat layouts. The former gets a dual-tone Ice Grey colour theme for its cabin, while the latter dons a dual-tone tan look. The 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system is still locked in portrait position. It now supports multi-touch controls. Users can change the climate setting with two-finger controls. Adjusting the volume requires using three-finger gestures. There is a 7-inch digital instrument cluster on board as well. Other features include an air filter, push-button start/stop, a powered driver’s seat, a panoramic sunroof, and more.
Things remain the same under the hood as the MG Hector facelift carries forward the petrol and diesel powertrains from the outgoing model. The 1.5-litre petrol engine is E20-compliant. It generates a maximum power output of 142hp and 250Nm. Meanwhile, the 2.0-litre diesel engine generates a maximum power output of 168hp and 350Nm of torque. Both engines can be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The petrol engine is also available with a CVT automatic transmission.

Final Thoughts
The Hector facelift gets 2 new exterior colour schemes – Pearl While and Celdaon Blue. As mentioned earlier, the pricing of the diesel variants will be revealed next year. The SUV rivals the Mahindra XUV 7XO, Tata Safari, Mahindra Scorpio N, Tata Sierra, and Hyundai Alcazar in India.
