The 2nd-generation model of the Hyundai Venue has been spotted testing again. This time, the test mule was not covered with camouflage. The compact SUV is set to launch in India on November 4. New spy shots give a closer look at the SUV’s design elements. The automaker has also confirmed a couple of significant feature upgrades. Production of the next-gen Venue is currently underway at Hyundai’s manufacturing facility in Talegaon, Maharashtra.

2nd-gen Hyundai Venue: What do the new spy shots reveal?
The new Hyundai Venue borrows design elements from the Ioniq 9 and Creta. The upper section of the split headlamp arrangement is inspired by Hyundai’s flagship EV, while the lower section looks similar to its bestselling midsize SUV. The C-shaped LED DRLs are positioned next to the vertically stacked headlamps. The design of the grille has been changed, too. It now features a rectangular pattern that gives it a cleaner look.
Along the sides, the SUV features more prominent wheel arches and character lines than the current model. A rear quarter glass makes an appearance on the profile. The design of the 16-inch alloy wheels has been tweaked slightly. The C-pillar is finished in black and has a silver garnish. At the back, the new Venue gets a full-width LED light bar connecting the split tail lamps. This design is inspired by the Creta. The muscular bumper has a dual-tone theme. There are two reflectors at the bottom.
Spy shots of the interior reveal a curved dual-screen arrangement for the touchscreen infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster. Each of these two screens measures 12.3 inches. This is a big upgrade over the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and semi-digital instrument cluster on the current-gen Venue. The new setup supports OTA updates. Another big feature upgrade on the SUV is the Level 2 ADAS package. This suite adds features like adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, blind spot collision avoidance, and more to the Level 1 package on the existing model.
The new Hyundai Venue will retain the powertrain of the current-gen model. The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 83hp and 114Nm of torque. This engine can be mated to a 5-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT gearbox. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine puts out 120hp and 170Nm. This engine can also be paired with a 5-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT gearbox. Lastly, the 1.5-litre diesel engine generates a maximum power output of 115hp and 250Nm of torque. This engine is only available with a 6-speed manual transmission.

Final Thoughts
Prices for the current-gen Venue start at Rs 7.26 lakh and go up to Rs 12.46 lakh. We expect the prices for the next-gen lineup to start closer to Rs 8 lakh. Hyundai will open the booking window in the coming days. Upon launch, it will rival the Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Skoda Kylaq, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, and Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
