Yamaha Aerox-E Electric Scooter Launched at Rs 2.82 lakh

Yamaha Aerox-E has finally gone on sale in India after being unveiled last year. The automaker showcased the electric scooter alongside the EC-06 at Yamaha XSR155’s launch event in November 2025. The EC-06 was launched at Rs 1.68 lakh in February 2026. The Aerox-E has now entered the market with a Rs 2.82 lakh price tag, making it the most expensive offering in Yamaha’s catalogue in India.

Yamaha Aerox-E: What’s on offer?

The design of the Yamaha Aerox-E doesn’t stray too far from that of its ICE counterpart. It has a similar scowl to the ICE Aerox, featuring the waterdrop-shaped twin LED headlamp setup. The X motif is prominent along the sides. The electric scooter has a layered apron design and a single-piece, 2-level seat. It gets a sharp LED tail lamp at the back. The scooter stands at dimensions of 1,980mm x 700mm x 1,150mm, and has a 1,360mm wheelbase. It has a kerb weight of 139kg.

Instead of an LCD dash (like the one on the ICE Aerox), the Yamaha Aerox-E gets a 5-inch TFT display with app connectivity. It supports turn-by-turn navigation. Riders can pair their smartphones with the scooter over a Bluetooth connection. The TFT panel displays all the important metrics. Other features include a Smart Key with Answer Back function, Traction Control System (TCS), Reverse Mode, single-channel ABS, disc brakes on both wheels, and more.

Powering the Yamaha Aerox-E is a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM). It generates a maximum power output of 12.9hp (9.5kW) and 48Nm of torque. There are 3 riding modes on offer – Eco, Standard, and Power. The Power mode gives you a surge of acceleration when you need it the most. It can be activated when the number above the trip indicator reaches Level 10. The top speed of the electric scooter is capped at 95.5km/h.

The big highlight of the Aerox-E is its detachable battery setup. The two 1.5kWh battery units can be removed and charged using a dock. The electric scooter can function with just one battery plugged into it. The charging dock can fully replenish a single battery pack in 3 hours and 10 minutes. Yamaha claims a driving range of 117km (IDC) with both batteries plugged in at 100%.

Final Thoughts

Currently, the Aerox-E is only available in Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, and Chennai. It costs Rs 2,82,390 in the latter three cities. Meanwhile, it is priced at Rs 2,81,600 in Bangalore and Delhi. Yamaha will roll it out in other cities in the coming months. The Aerox-E primarily rivals the TVS X, but also locks horns with the Ather 450 Apex.
