Tata Curvv Series X launched at a starting price of Rs 10 lakh

The Tata Curvv lineup has been rejigged and has received the ‘Series X’ branding. Prices for the new lineup start at Rs 10 lakh and go up to Rs 19 lakh. Several premium features from higher variants have made their way to lower trim levels. The updated model also gets some cosmetic tweaks. The Dark Edition is now available from the Pure X+ trim level. No changes have been made under the hood of the crossover.

The Curvv Series X retains its broad design language. Its lower-spec variants come with 17-inch alloys while the higher variants get 18-inch wheels. The Dark series now starts from the Pure X+ trim. This edition gives an all-black treatment to the grille and the cabin.

The entry-level Smart X trim gets features like R-Comfort seating with passive ventilation, a rear armrest with cup holders, and multi-drive modes. On the safety front, it gets 6 airbags, ESP, and ABS with EBD. The 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system is available from the Pure X trim onwards. It also gets wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 6-speaker audio system, automatic climate control, cruise control, push-button start, auto-fold ORVMs, and rear AC vents.

The Creative X trim gets all of the features mentioned above plus a voice-assisted panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera with blind-spot view monitor, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and an illuminated cooled glove box. Safety features on this trim include TPMS, auto headlamps, and rain-sensing wipers.

The top-spec Accomplished X and Accomplished X+ trims add features like Level 2 ADAS, a powered tailgate, lightsaber DRLs, welcome and goodbye taillamp animations, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, a 6-way powered driver’s seat, a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 9-speaker JBL sound system, wireless charging, twin-zone climate control, an air purifier, Alexa support, and more.

Things remain the same under the hood as the Tata Curvv Series X continues to be offered in 3 engine options. The 1.2-litre three-cylinder ‘Revotron’ turbo-petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 120hp and 170Nm torque. The new 1.2-litre ‘Hyperion’ direct-injection turbo-engine generates a maximum power output of 125hp and 225Nm torque. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre ‘Kryojet’ diesel engine produces a maximum power output of 118hp. All three engines can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Final Thoughts

The all-electric version of the Curvv got the ‘X’ treatment back in May. Its prices start at Rs 16.99 lakh and go up to Rs 19.69 lakh. The ICE model primarily rivals the Citroen Basalt X in India.
