Tata Nexon: New variants and updated prices

Tata Motors has added a new ‘Smart (O)’ petrol variant to the Nexon lineup. Priced at Rs 8 lakh, this is the new entry-level lineup in the Tata Nexon range. It undercuts the previous entry-level model by Rs 15,000. Apart from that, the automaker has also added two new diesel variants for the SUV – Smart+ and Smart+ S. The former is priced at Rs 10 lakh while the latter fetches Rs 10.60 lakh. This brings down the entry-level price for diesel powertrains of the SUV by Rs 1.10 lakh.

Prices for the Smart+ and Smart+ S variants of Tata Nexon petrol have also been slashed by Rs 30,000 and Rs 40,000 respectively, bringing their asking price down to Rs 8.90 lakh and Rs 9.40 lakh.

The 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine on the Tata Nexon produces a maximum power output of 120hp and 170Nm. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre diesel engine churns out 115hp and 260Nm. Both engines can be mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT gearbox. The petrol engine also gets 7-speed DCT and 5-speed manual transmission options.

Talking about the features, the Tata Nexon is equipped with a 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The SUV  also rocks connected car tech, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, voice-assisted sunroof, touch controls for the HVAC, and more.
