It follows a minimal ‘Charismatic Simplicity’ design language, which is reflected in its compact octagonal front grille and edgy LED headlamps. There are 3 selectable signature modes for the LED DRLs. Along the sides, minimalist design is reflected in the clear surfaces, flush-sitting door handles, 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, and the clearly defined shoulder area. At the back, the matrix LED tail lamps also get customisable signatures.
Inside, the Countryman C flaunts a 9.4-inch circular OLED display that carries out infotainment duties as well as incorporates vehicle functions like navigation, teleservices, in-car weather, and more. A Heads-Up Display (HUD) in the cockpit projects all the relevant information in the driver’s line of sight. Mini Operating System 9 handles the software duties. There is an Intelligent Personal Assistant (IPA) on board. You also get access to wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Other highlights on the feature list include a 12-speaker Harmon Kardon HiFi sound system, a fisheye camera for the cabin, powered front seats, a panoramic glass sunroof, wireless charging, and more. The SUV has a boot space capacity of 505 litres. It can be expanded to 1,450 litres by folding the rear seats.
The Mini Countryman C is powered by a 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. It generates a maximum power output of 156hp and 240Nm torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The SUV can go from 0-100km/h in 9 seconds, with its top speed capped at 212km/h. Mini claims a mileage of 15.92km/l on the Countryman C.
Mr Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO, BMW Group India, said, “The all-new MINI Countryman C is definitively ‘a new kind of BIG’. It beautifully evolves the traditional MINI silhouette into a commanding SUV with a bold look and a highly practical cabin tailored for family adventures, all while remaining entirely true to our iconic go-kart feeling. We are thrilled that this car will now be made in India, strategically strengthening the portfolio and offering an absolutely great value proposition. MINI is a highly aspirational brand for modern, urban Indian luxury customers. The Countryman C is tailor-made for individuals who demand robust utility and everyday versatility, but still want to make a distinct, expressive statement. This SUV is sophisticated, charismatically minimalist, and undeniably fun, proving that you can grow up without losing your edge.”
