MG Motor India announces revised prices under GST 2.0

MG Motor India has announced that it will pass the benefits received under the GST 2.0 structure to its customers. The new prices will come into effect on September 22, 2025. Other automakers like Hyundai, Tata Motors, Skoda Auto, Nissan Motor, and more will also pass the GST benefits to their respective customers. These price cuts are valid for ICE offerings only.

The 2.0-litre diesel engine powering the Gloster SUV is offered in a ‘turbo’ and ‘twin-turbo’ spec. The turbo engine can produce a maximum power of 161bhp and 375Nm peak torque, while the twin-turbo engine can generate a maximum power of 215bhp and 380Nm peak torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

The Hector SUV is available in 2 powertrain options. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 142hp and 250Nm. This engine is E20-compliant. Meanwhile, the 2.0-litre diesel engine generates a maximum power output of 168hp and 350Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The petrol engine is also available with a CVT automatic transmission.

The Astor SUV is powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum power output of 110hp and 144Nm of torque. It can be paired with a 5-speed manual or an 8-speed CVT gearbox. The 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine for the SUV was discontinued earlier this year.

Final Thoughts

The 7-seater Savvy variant of the Gloster SUV with AWD has received the highest price cut, worth Rs 3.04 lakh. Under the new GST regulation, small cars are taxed at 18% while larger vehicles are taxed at 40%.
