Maruti Suzuki e Vitara price list revealed

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara was launched yesterday at a starting price of Rs 10.99 lakh for the BaaS model. The full price list for Maruti’s debut all-electric car has now been revealed. The standard model lineup starts at Rs 15.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 20.01 lakh. The electric SUV comes in 3 trim levels and 2 battery pack options. Buyers can book their model for a token amount of Rs 21,000.

The e Vitara comes in 2 battery pack sizes – 49kWh and 61kWh. The entry-level Delta variant comes exclusively with the smaller battery pack. All three trims are powered by a front-mounted electric motor. The 49kWh variants generate a maximum power output of 144hp and can go up to 440km on a full charge. Meanwhile, the 61kWh variants put out 174hp and have a 543km driving range. The torque produced is identical for all variants – 189Nm.

Maruti is offering a complimentary 7.4kW home charger (with free installation) with each purchase. This charger takes up to 6.5 hours and 9 hours to charge the 49kWh and 61kWh variants from 10% to 80%, respectively. A 70kW DC fast charger can accomplish the same feat in 45 minutes.

Inside, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara flaunts a black-and-brown dual-tone colour theme. The dashboard is equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. There is support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include ambient lighting, ventilated front seating, a 10-way powered driver’s seat, sliding and reclining functions for rear seats, a glass sunroof, an Infinity sound system, and more.

On the safety front, the e Vitara offers 7 airbags as a standard feature across all variants. Other safety features include a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and more. There is a Level 2 ADAS package on board with functions like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), and more. The electric SUV has been awarded a 5-star safety rating by Bharat NCAP.

Final Thoughts

As mentioned earlier, Maruti has set the token price for bookings at Rs 21,000. Due to high export demand and limited production capacity, the local delivery rollout for the electric SUV will not come into full swing until July. As things stand, the e Vitara rivals the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, Vinfast VF 6, and MG Windsor EV in India.
