Maruti Suzuki is set to increase the prices of its cars for the second time in the last three months. The automaker’s latest regulatory filing with the BSE has revealed price hikes of up to Rs 30,000. The exact increment will depend on the model and variant. The last Maruti price hike came in June, when the automaker increased prices by up to Rs 30,000 across its portfolio.

Maruti cites rising input costs as the primary driver behind the latest price hike. The automaker says it had been absorbing these costs through cost-reduction measures, but sustained inflation and pressure on operating margins have forced it to pass on a portion of the costs to the customer.
The new prices will come into effect in August. The model-wise breakdown and exact increase will be revealed on August 1. Buyers planning to buy a Maruti car can make their bookings at the existing prices before the end of July. Going by previous trends, Maruti’s premium Nexa offerings will be affected the most. The mass-market Arena cars will receive minimal hikes.
This month, Maruti Suzuki is offering discounts worth up to Rs 90,000 on Arena offerings like Victoris, Brezza, Alto K10, Wagon R, Swift, S-Presso, Celerio, and Eeco. Maruti Suzuki Victoris has bagged the biggest discount, worth Rs 90,000. The Brezza gets Rs 55,000 off, Alto K10 and Wagon R get Rs 52,500 off, Swift gets Rs 45,000 off, and the S-Presso, Celerio, and Eeco get Rs 37,500 off.
In other news, Maruti Suzuki will launch the Brezza facelift on July 24. The new version of the compact SUV will borrow the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine from the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. This engine generates a maximum power output of 100hp and 147Nm of torque, and can be mated to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
The Brezza facelift will also retain its 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine pumps out 101hp and 136Nm. The CNG version of the Brezza is based on this engine. The CNG model of the Brezza facelift will rock an underbody fuel tank. The current Brezza CNG puts out 88hp and 121.5Nm, and offers a mileage of 25.51km/kg.
In terms of features, it will pack a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a fully digital instrument cluster, front seat ventilation, powered driver’s seat, ambient lighting, wireless charging, Level 2 ADAS, and more.
