The teaser posted by Maruti gives a glimpse of the upcoming Brezza facelift. It doesn’t reveal any new details about the upcoming SUV. The spy shots of the SUV’s test mules have revealed a wider, chrome-plated grille along the front fascia. The bumper has received a few tweaks too. The LED headlamp and DRL design, unveiled in the teaser, doesn’t stray too far from the current model, but has a bolder look.
No big changes are expected along the sides of the upcoming SUV. The teaser revealed an identical silhouette to the outgoing model. However, the facelift will get a new design for its alloy wheels and red accents along the door panels. At the back, it will get a sportier bumper. The ‘Brezza’ lettering will be studded on the tailgate.
Not many changes are expected to the interior layout. The Brezza facelift will retain the dashboard and cabin design of the current model. Maruti could introduce a new colour theme for the updated model. Its 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system will likely be sourced from Maruti Suzuki Victoris. This display will support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There will also be a fully digital instrument cluster on board. Additionally, the SUV is expected to get features like front seat ventilation, powered driver’s seat, ambient lighting, wireless charging, Level 2 ADAS, and more.
There will be one big change under the hood of the Brezza facelift. A 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine will join the powertrain lineup. This is the same engine that does duty on the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. It generates a maximum power output of 100hp and 147Nm of torque, and can be mated to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine will be carried forward from the current model. This engine pumps out 101hp and 136Nm. The CNG version of the Brezza is based on this engine. The CNG model of the Brezza facelift will rock an underbody fuel tank. The current Brezza CNG puts out 88hp and 121.5Nm, and offers a mileage of 25.51km/kg.
