Under the hood, the Hyundai Bayon is powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. It generates a maximum power output of 115hp and 144Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or an iVT. The latter is only available from the HX5 trim onwards. It works in tandem with Dash Boost Mode, Sporty Drive Tech, and three other selectable drive modes (Eco, Normal, and Sport).

Mr Tarun Garg, Managing Director & CEO, Hyundai Motor India Limited, said, “The launch of Hyundai BAYON marks the beginning of Hyundai’s next golden product cycle in India. BAYON is far more than a new SUV; it is a symbol of our commitment to delivering intelligent, future-ready mobility solutions that resonate with the aspirations of Indian customers. Built around our philosophy of ‘Intelligence That Moves,’ BAYON brings together meaningful innovation, advanced safety, intuitive technology and modern design in a way that enhances everyday life.

As HMIL’s first SUV with an in-built Generative AI Voice Assistant and Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 Pro ADAS, BAYON represents a new benchmark for intelligent mobility. Manufactured in India, Hyundai BAYON will also be exported to more than 50 markets globally, reinforcing India’s growing role as a strategic manufacturing and export hub for Hyundai. We are confident that BAYON will strengthen Hyundai’s leadership in innovation and become a highly desirable choice for customers seeking a smarter, safer and more connected driving experience.”
