The new Taigun facelift stands at dimensions of 4,221mm x 1,760mm x 1,612mm and has a 2,651mm wheelbase. Its front fascia takes design inspiration from Tayron R-Line, Volkswagen’s flagship SUV in India. The LED headlamps are integrated with LED DRLs. These DRLs are connected by a light bar running along the sleek grille. An illuminated VW logo rests in the middle of the grille. The revised front bumper houses a large air dam with chrome-plated horizontal slats. The GT variants feature all-black slats and special badging on the grille.
The Taigun facelift inherits the profile of its outgoing counterpart. The new design for the 17-inch alloy wheels is the only change it gets along the sides. The GT variants have all-black alloys with red brake callipers. The GT badging can be found on the fenders as well. At the back, the SUV gets a new bumper, updated tail lamps, and an illuminated VW logo on the LED light bar.
Inside, the Volkswagen Taigun facelift retains the dashboard layout of the outgoing model, but spruces it up with premium trims. The two-tone finish offers a nice look. Buyers can choose from 6 upholstery options for their model. The 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with some AI features. Accompanying this screen is a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, wireless charging, and more. However, unlike its Skoda counterpart, it does not offer a massage function for the rear seat.
On the safety front, the Taigun facelift offers 6 airbags, ABS with EBS, Traction Control System (TCS), Brake Assist (BA), Hill Hold Assist, ISOFIX anchorages, front and rear parking sensors, electronic differential lock, and more features.
Volkswagen has stuck with the 1.0L TSI and 1.5L TSI engine options for the Taigun. The former generates a maximum power output of 113hp and 178Nm torque. It can be mated to a 6-speed manual or a new 8-speed automatic gearbox. The 1.5L TSI engine puts out 147hp and 250Nm. It is mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission.
