Renault Triber
Nissan Motor is looking to expand its portfolio in India. Earlier this year, it announced a sub-4m MPV and another compact SUV for the Indian market. Its current lineup in the country consists of the Magnite and X-Trail SUVs. Recent spy shots of a thickly clad test mule confirm that the Nissan MPV is in the testing phase. This MPV will be based on the Renault Triber. It is expected to go on sale in early 2026. Nissan will soon start dropping teasers for the MPV, with the grand reveal expected to take place at the Auto Expo 2026.

Despite being based on the Triber, the Nissan MPV will have a different front fascia. It is expected to get a larger grille than Renault’s MPV. This grille will have geometric inserts. The design of the LED headlamps will be different, too. These headlamps will be flanked by C-shaped LED DRLs. Even though the test mule was completely camouflaged, its front fascia gave off a bold look. Along the sides, the 15-inch alloy wheels will rock a new design as well. The test mule also revealed functional roof rails and an antenna. The profile of the MPV looks identical to the Triber. The spy shots did not reveal any details about the rear look, but we expect a few tweaks there as well.
No details are known about the interior of the new Nissan MPV. Since it is based on the Renault Triber, we expect it to come with removable third-row seats. The second and third row seats will be equipped with the recline function. In terms of features, the MPV will pack an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch TFT digital instrument cluster, a cooled storage box in the centre console, wireless charging, and more.
On the safety front, the MPV is expected to get 6 airbags as a standard feature. Other features will include a 360-degree camera, ABS, front parking sensors, cruise control, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring Sensor, traction control, hill hold assist, and ISOFIX child anchorages.
The upcoming Nissan MPV will be powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum power output of 72hp and 96Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox. This is the same engine that powers the Triber.
