The new Acoustic Vehicle Alert System (AVAS) bumps up the security of the Toyota Innova Hycross. This feature is commonly found in EVs and hybrid cars. It alerts the pedestrians of the approaching car by playing an acoustic alert. Unlike internal combustion engines, the electric motors in EVs do not produce any noise. This can be a detriment to pedestrians as they may not be aware of the approaching car. This is where AVAS comes in handy.
Apart from the addition of AVAS, no changes have been made to the Toyota Innova Hycross. The MPV’s interior is decked with a 10.1-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system which comes with smartphone mirroring and connected car tech. Other features of the MPV include wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, climate control, cruise control, individual digital screens for rear passengers, and much more.
Toyota Innova Hycross is available in 7 and 8-seater configurations. There are multiple colour options for the interior. Buyers can choose between an all-black theme or a dual-tone colour scheme for the cabin. The ADAS package on the MPV includes features like Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Automatic High Beam (AHB), and Road Sign Assist (RSB).
Powering the Toyota Innova Hycross is a 2.0-litre petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum power output of 174hp and 205Nm of torque. In a strong hybrid configuration, it puts out 184hp. This engine is mated to a CVT gearbox. The MPV offers a fuel economy of 16.13kmpl. Only the top-spec variants of the MPV are available with a strong-hybrid configuration.
