Tata Xpres fleet launched at Rs 5.59 lakh

Tata Motors has expanded its fleet catalogue with the launch of the Xpres sedan. Tata Xpres is based on the Tigor sedan. It joins the Xpres EV in the automaker’s fleet section. The sedan is now available in petrol and CNG options. The two powertrains are priced at Rs 5.59 lakh and Rs 6.59 lakh, respectively. Bookings for the new model are now open at Tata’s authorised fleet dealerships.

Tata Xpres: What’s on offer?

Tata Xpres is stripped down version of the Tigor sedan. It stands on 14-inch steel wheels with black covers. Inside, it gets a dual-tone interior theme. Since it is a bare bones version of the Tigor, it does not get features like vehicle tracking, touchscreen infotainment system, audio system, rear AC vents, Type-C charging, and more. However, buyers can choose to get these features retrofitted on their fleet.

Tata Xpres boasts the largest boot space of 419L in the petrol fleet sedan segment. The CNG version of the sedan rocks a split-cylinder setup with a 70-litre capacity. This arrangement frees up a lot of space at the back, although Tata has not revealed the boot space capacity of the CNG model.

The 1.2-litre engine powering the Tata Xpres produces a maximum power output of 86hp and 113Nm of torque in petrol mode. It can be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission only. Tata has not revealed the output numbers of the CNG model yet.

Mr Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., said, “Tata XPRES was created to address the real operating challenges faced by fleet customers, including passengers and owners. Responding to the needs of our fleet customers, we are elated to introduce the first-in-segment 70-litre twin-cylinder CNG variant with best-in-segment usable boot space, alongside a petrol variant with the largest boot space. Built on our proven 1.2-litre Revotron powertrain and supported by long-term warranty, tailored finance and dedicated fleet dealerships, Tata XPRES fleet with its complete range of electric and ICE powertrains will offer a complete, future-ready mobility platform to our customers, in turn expanding our market share across India’s commercial mobility landscape.”

Final Thoughts

Tata is offering a standard warranty of 3 years/1,00,000km (whichever is earlier) on the Xpres. This is extendable up to 5 years/1,80,000km (whichever is earlier). The Xpres rivals the Hyundai Prime SD and Maruti Suzuki Tour S in India.
