Skoda India has added a new entry-level variant to the Kodiaq SUV’s lineup. The Skoda Kodiaq was launched in India back in April. At the time of launch, it was available in 2 variants – Sportline and Laurin & Klement (L&K). The automaker has now added a new ‘Lounge’ variant for the SUV. This variant will sit below Sportline in the trim hierarchy.

The Kodiaq is imported to India as a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) unit. Here is its price list.
Variant | Price |
Lounge | Rs 39.99 lakh |
Sportline | Rs 43.76 lakh |
Laurin & Klement (L&K) | Rs 45.96 lakh |
The Lounge variant of the Kodiaq SUV does not get any significant cosmetic changes over the rest of the lineup. It rests on 18-inch Mazeno alloy wheels. There are matte dark chrome inserts on the SUV. The entry-level variant is offered in 3 paint shades – Moon White, Magic Black, and Graphite Grey. The higher trims are available in 3 additional colours – Bronx Gold, Velvet Red, Race Blue.
Inside, the seating capacity on the Lounge variant is limited to 5 people. The Sportline and L&K models can seat 7 people. The limited seating capacity means larger boot space for the entry-level model. In comparison to the 281 litres of storage space on the other two variants, it has a greater boot space capacity of 786 litres.
In terms of features, the Kodiaq Lounge is equipped with a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch virtual cockpit, a two-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls, wireless phone mirroring, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, a three-zone climate control system, smart dials, rear sun blinds, and more. The big misses on this model are the larger 13-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, Canton sound system, a 360-degree camera, virtual pedal for electric tailgate, illuminated grille, driver drowsiness alert, and intelligent park assist.
Skoda has not made any tradeoffs on the safety front. The Kodiaq Lounge packs features like 9 airbags, ABS with EBD, hill descent control, hill hold control, multi-collision braking, front and rear parking sensors, electronic differential lock, and more.
Things remain the same as the Kodiaq Lounge continues to be powered by the the 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. This engine generates a maximum power output of 204hp and 320Nm of torque. It is mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox, which sends power to all four wheels. Skoda claims a mileage of 14.86km/l on this SUV.
