Renault Duster fuel economy numbers revealed

After breaking cover in January, the Renault Duster was launched last week at a starting introductory price of Rs 10.29 lakh. The automaker has now revealed the mileage specifications for the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine of the SUV. The fuel economy figures of the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine have not been revealed. Renault will add a strong hybrid powertrain to the Duster’s lineup by Diwali. These strong hybrid variants have already sold out for the year.

Renault Duster: Check out the mileage specs

The 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine powering the Renault Duster generates a maximum power output of 163hp and 280Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 6-speed manual or DCT gearbox. The manual variants of this powertrain have an ARAI-tested mileage of 17.75km/l. Meanwhile, the automatic variants offer 18.45km/l.

The Duster also comes in a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum power output of 100hp and 160Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission only. The fuel economy numbers of this engine have not been revealed. The 1.8-litre e-tech strong hybrid engine, set to launch this Diwali, will be linked to a 1.4kWh battery pack.

When it comes to creature comforts, the new Renault Duster packs a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The infotainment display supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include dual-zone climate control, a 6-speaker Arkamys sound system, a panoramic sunroof, an air purifier, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, and more.

On the safety front, the midsize SUV packs 6 airbags, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB), front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and more. The Level 2 ADAS package contains 17 functions, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Active Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, and more.

Final Thoughts

Prices for the Renault Duster start at Rs 10.29 lakh and go up to Rs 18.09 lakh if booked through the R Pass. The regular prices start at Rs 10.49 lakh and go up to Rs 18.49 lakh. The midsize SUV rivals Tata SierraMaruti Suzuki Grand VitaraToyota Urban Cruiser HyRyderKia SeltosVolkswagen TaigunHyundai CretaSkoda Kushaq, and Honda Elevate in India.
