Key Highlights
Jeep India has slashed the prices for the entry-level variant of the Compass SUV by Rs 1.70 lakh. Prices for the SUV now start at Rs 18.99 lakh. Interestingly, the automaker has hiked the prices for other variants by Rs 14,000. Last week, Jeep launched the Meridian X in India at a starting price of Rs 34.27 lakh.

Prices for the AT variants of these trims have been hiked by Rs 14,000 as well. Model S AT is the only variant in the entire Compass lineup that comes in an AWD (4×4) configuration.
The 2.0-litre diesel engine on the Jeep Compass produces a maximum power output of 170hp and 350Nm of torque. This engine can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic transmission. The SUV offers a fuel efficiency of 16.2 kmpl. Jeep discontinued the petrol engine for the Compass last year.
There are no updates on the Jeep Compass. The SUV continues to be offered with features like a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, connected car tech, ventilated front seats, dual-zone AC, a 360-degree camera, wireless charging, and more.

Jeep’s portfolio in India currently consists of the Compass, Meridian, Wrangler, and Grand Cherokee. Jeep Compass is the automaker’s most affordable offering in India. Meanwhile, the Grand Cherokee, priced at Rs 80.50 lakh, is the most expensive Jeep SUV in India. The Compass rivals the likes of the Citroen C5, Volkswagen Tiguan, and Hyundai Tucson.
