Pack Two variants of Mahindra BE 6 & XEV 9e get 79kWh battery

The Pack Two variants of the Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e SUVs are now available with the bigger 79kWh battery pack, which was previously exclusive to Pack Three variants. At the time of launch, the Pack Two variants of both EVs were available with the 59kWh battery pack only. Mahindra has also announced that the delivery rollout for the Pack Two variants will commence at the end of July.

Mahindra BE 6 & XEV 9e: More battery pack options

Here is the price list for all the Pack Two variants of Mahindra BE 6 & XEV 9e.

The 59kWh battery variants of the Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e produce a maximum power output of 231hp and 380Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the 79kWh variants put out 286hp and 380Nm. The two SUVs are available in an RWD configuration only. It remains to be seen whether Mahindra will add AWD variants down the line.

Mahindra BE 6

The 59kWh battery pack offers a driving range of 556km on the Mahindra BE 6. The larger 79kWh battery pack can go up to 682km on a full charge. The XEV 9e has a diminished driving range due to a heavier mass. Its 59kWh and 79kWh battery variants offer a driving range of 542km and 656km, respectively. Using a 175kW DC fast charger, these battery packs can go from a 20% charge to 80% in just 20 minutes.

Mahindra XEV 9e

Both electric SUVs are decked with safety features. These include 6 airbags, Electronic Parking Brake (EPB), all-wheel disc brakes, front fog lamps, cornering lamps, Brake-by-Wire technology, Intelligent Electronic Brake Booster with 46 value-added features, a rear HD camera, front and rear parking sensors, auto-defogger, TPMS, and more. There’s also a Level 2 ADAS package onboard.

Mahindra XEV 9e

In terms of convenience features, the Mahindra BE 6 rocks a twin-screen setup comprised of 12.3-inch displays for the infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster. The XEV 9e flaunts triple 12.3-inch displays. Both cars support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. The audio duties are handled by a 16-speaker Harman Kardon system with Dolby Atmos.

Final Thoughts

Prices for the Mahindra BE 6 start at Rs 18.90 lakh and go up to Rs 26.90 lakh. It rivals the Hyundai Creta ElectricMaruti Suzuki e Vitara, and Toyota Urban Cruiser EV.  Meanwhile, the XEV 9e is priced between Rs 21.90 lakh and Rs 30.50 lakh. It will rival the upcoming Tata Harrier EV
