Next-gen Suzuki S-Cross to debut in few days: Everything we know so far

The Japanese automaker is all set to launch its new Next-gen Suzuki S-Cross in the international market. We have seen that the company is rushing to update all its cars like Alto, WagonR, Swift and the Vitara. In fact, we have also seen some spy shots of the new Vitara Brezza with a hybrid powertrain spotted in a trailer. Next-gen Celerio’s booking also started recently and not the big news is coming out of the European market for the Suzuki S-cross.

The car is expected to make its debut first in Spain around Christmas in December 2021. We anticipated the car won’t be launched until next year but after the confirmation from  Juan Lopez Frade, President of Suzuki Iberica he informed us that the car is going to make a global appearance in a virtual presentation which is scheduled for the next month i.e December 2021 in Spain.

For now, the new car has been a secret move by the Autocar makers as the car has never been spotted testing on roads and there are absolutely no reveals by the company. As per the images whose source is the web we can guess the new updated design of the car which looks bolder and more SUV oriented. The crossover-ish design is still to be retained by the car. The car is expected to have a futuristic design with major changes in aesthetics.

As we can see with the trend Suzuki is following to make its cars look more SUV styled as the demand of the market requires that. Thus we can expect the next-gen S-Cross to have bolder bumpers and slightly more headroom. The front grills will also receive a revamp with LED DRLs and headlamps. The alloy design is expected to have an update as well.

To make the car a future-ready interior will get some trending parts like a full touch screen display with the support of Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The top trims may get a sunroof, wireless charging and push to start/stop button. The car will have good safety standards as it is first being released in the European market. The car is expected to have a hybrid powertrain Called the SHVS (Suzuki Hybrid Vehicle System), the new mild-hybrid system will be coupled with the petrol engine to achieve new emission norms.

The engine used in the Next-gen Suzuki S-Cross will be a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a mild 48-volt battery system which will be capable of producing 103bhp of power and 138 Nm of torque. The car will be available in both manual and automatic variants. As an option, Suzuki will give the AllGrip 4×4 drive system for the same.
