The third-generation Jeep Compass is set to launch in Europe in the coming weeks. Ahead of the launch, the SUV was spotted testing in Italy. The test mule was draped in heavy camouflage. The absence of an exhaust pipe indicated that the test mule was an all-electric variant of the SUV. The third-gen Compass will launch in 3 powertrain options – hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and all-electric.

2025 Jeep Compass: What to expect?
The new Jeep Compass will have a sportier and more rugged look than the current-gen model. Shorter overhangs and a bolder profile are the reasons behind the new menacing look of the SUV. The seven-slot grille will rock a new design. The DRL elements will be integrated into the grille. The LED headlamps flanking the grille will be slimmer. The front bumper will get air intake vents with active flaps to improve the aerodynamics of the SUV. The Compass will be underpinned by the STLA Medium platform.

The spy shots do not reveal much about the interior of the third-gen Jeep Compass. We expect the dashboard and centre cabin to get a refreshed design. The automaker may also update the upholstery in the cabin. Other feature upgrades, like a bigger infotainment system and a more elaborate ambient lighting setup, are also expected on the next-gen model.

Jeep has revealed that the upcoming Compass SUV will be available in hybrid, plug-in, and all-electric powertrains. It has also confirmed that the SUV will come with All-Wheel Drive variants. However, it has not revealed any mechanical specs yet. The SUV could borrow its powertrains from the Peugeot e-3008, which uses the same STLA Medium platform. It comes in 2 battery pack options – 73kWh and 97kWh. Its dual-motor setup produces a maximum power output of 321hp.

The current-gen Jeep Compass that is retailed in India is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine. This engine produces a maximum power output of 170hp and 350Nm of torque. It can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic transmission. The SUV offers a fuel efficiency of 16.2 kmpl. Jeep no longer offers the Compass in a petrol powertrain.

Final Thoughts
The Jeep Compass will be manufactured at the automaker’s Melfi plant in Italy. It is slated to go into production in the coming months. It is expected to launch in India after going on sale in Europe. However, it remains to be seen which powertrains of the SUV will make their way to India. Upon launch, the new Jeep Compass will rival the Citroen C5, Volkswagen Tiguan, and Hyundai Tucson.
