New design sketches revealed for upcoming 3rd-gen Honda Amaze

Honda Car India has dropped the exterior and interior sketches for the upcoming 3rd-gen Amaze. The new Honda Amaze is set to launch in India on December 4. The 3rd-gen Amaze showcases a progressive design philosophy that incorporates the signature Honda elements. The sedan made its Indian debut in 2013. The 2nd-gen version of the Amaze was launched in India in 2018.

2024 Honda Amaze: What to expect?

The design sketches for the 3rd-gen Honda Amaze suggest that the sedan’s front fascia could be similar to the Elevate SUV. The front grille has a hexagonal pattern but is smaller than the unit on its SUV counterpart. It receives a chrome finish as well. The sleek LED headlamps are integrated with LED DRLs, giving the sedan a bold look. The fog lamp housings look similar to the units on the City sedan.

The profile of the sedan is highlighted by sharp character lines. Its silhouette looks similar to the existing model. The alloy wheel design has been updated, giving it a modern look. At the back, the Honda Amaze shares some similarities with City, as the tail lamps on both sedans follow the same design language. The bottom corners of the bumper house the two reflectors.

Inside, the 3rd-gen Honda Amaze looks very similar to the Elevate SUV. The sedan features a 10.25-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a semi-digital instrumental cluster, physical HVAC controls, and a multi-function steering wheel. The centre console is equipped with a wireless charging pad, cup holders, and USB charging ports. The dashboard flaunts a dual-tone black and beige finish. Honda may equip the sedan with an ADAS package as well.

Things will remain the same under the hood as the 3rd-gen Honda Amaze will continue to be powered by the 1.2-litre iVTEC naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum power output of 89hp and 110Nm peak torque. Transmission options include a five-speed manual and a CVT gearbox. Honda discontinued the 1.5-litre iDTEC diesel engine from the Amaze lineup back in 2022. This engine was capable of producing a peak power output of 100hp and 200Nm peak torque.

Conclusion

Prices for the new Honda Amaze will be announced upon its launch on December 4. The current-gen version of the sedan is priced between Rs 7.20 lakh and Rs 9.96 lakh. The next-gen sedan will rival the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Tata Tigor, and Hyundai Aura.
