In a bid to rival the newly launched Mahindra XUV 3XO, Tata Motors has added 3 new entry-level variants to the Nexon SUV lineup. The automaker has also slashed prices for some of the existing variants. Prices for the Tata Nexon petrol now start at Rs 8 lakh. The diesel variants start at Rs 10 lakh. Meanwhile, prices for the Mahindra XUV 3XO start at Rs 7.49 lakh and go up to Rs 15.49 lakh.

Tata Motors has added a new ‘Smart (O)’ petrol variant to the Nexon lineup. Priced at Rs 8 lakh, this is the new entry-level lineup in the Tata Nexon range. It undercuts the previous entry-level model by Rs 15,000. Apart from that, the automaker has also added two new diesel variants for the SUV – Smart+ and Smart+ S. The former is priced at Rs 10 lakh while the latter fetches Rs 10.60 lakh. This brings down the entry-level price for diesel powertrains of the SUV by Rs 1.10 lakh.
Prices for the Smart+ and Smart+ S variants of Tata Nexon petrol have also been slashed by Rs 30,000 and Rs 40,000 respectively, bringing their asking price down to Rs 8.90 lakh and Rs 9.40 lakh.
The 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine on the Tata Nexon produces a maximum power output of 120hp and 170Nm. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre diesel engine churns out 115hp and 260Nm. Both engines can be mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT gearbox. The petrol engine also gets 7-speed DCT and 5-speed manual transmission options.
Talking about the features, the Tata Nexon is equipped with a 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The SUV also rocks connected car tech, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, voice-assisted sunroof, touch controls for the HVAC, and more.

The Tata Nexon facelift was launched in India in September 2023 along with its EV counterpart. In March 2024, Tata Motors added five new AMT variants to the SUV’s lineup. This month, the all-electric model of the SUV is available with discounts of up to Rs 75,000. Apart from the Mahindra XUV 3XO, Tata Nexon also rivals the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite, Hyundai Venue and Renault Kiger.
