MG Windsor EV Pro gets a price hike of Rs 21,000

After hiking the prices of the Comet EV, MG Motor India has increased the prices of the recently launched Windsor EV Pro. The price hike only affects the top-spec ‘Essence’ variant of the MG Windsor EV Pro. It is now pricier by Rs 21,000. No changes have been made to the EV’s cosmetics, features, instrumentation, or powertrain. The prices of the non-Pro models remain unchanged.

MG Windsor EV Pro: Top-spec ‘Essence’ variant now pricier

The MG Windsor EV Pro was launched in May 2025 at an introductory price of Rs 17.49 lakh. At the time of launch, the Pro model was available in a single ‘Essence’ variant. The introductory price was applicable to the first 8,000 bookings made by buyers. After receiving 8,000 orders within a day, MG Motor ended the introductory offer and hiked the prices of the Essence Pro model by Rs 60,000.

By the end of May, MG added a new Exclusive variant to the Windsor EV Pro’s lineup. This variant was priced at Rs 17.25 lakh. The top-spec Essence variant sat at Rs 18.10 lakh after the introductory offer ended. After the recent price hike, the Essence variant fetches Rs 18.31 lakh. Meanwhile, the price of the Exclusive variant remains unchanged.

The MG Windsor EV Pro packs a bigger battery than the vanilla model. In comparison to the 38kWh battery on the regular Windsor EV, the Pro model flaunts a larger 52.9kWh battery pack. It offers a 449km driving range on a full charge. Meanwhile, the vanilla model can go up to 331km on a single charge. The bigger battery pack can be fully charged in 9.5 hours using a 7.4kW home charger. A 60kW DC fast charger can take it from 20 to 80% in 50 minutes. The boot space of the Pro model has shrunk from 604 litres to 579 litres due to the larger battery pack.

The MG Windsor EV Pro also gets some crucial cabin upgrades. It features a new dual-tone ivory theme for the interior, with beige upholstery on the seats, front armrest, and roof and column liners. The Essence variant rocks a Level 2 ADAS package, a powered tailgate, and features like Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle to Load (V2L). The latter two functions allow the EV to charge other electric cars and electronic devices.

Mechanically, the output of the MG Windsor EV Pro is identical to the vanilla model. The EV generates a maximum power output of 136hp and 200Nm of torque. Cosmetically, the only upgrade it gets is a new design for the 18-inch alloy wheels. There are 3 new paint shades on offer: Celadon Blue, Glaze Red, and Aurora Silver.

Final Thoughts

In terms of instrumentation, nothing separates the base and Pro models. The standard lineup of the Windsor EV starts at Rs 12 lakh and goes up to Rs 15.81 lakh. Buyers can also opt for a BaaS model to further bring down the price. The MG Windsor EV rivals the Tata Curvv EVMahindra XUV400, and Tata Nexon EV in India.
