MG Windsor EV gets a price hike of Rs 50,000

MG Motor India has hiked the prices for the Windsor EV by Rs 50,000. MG Windsor is available in 3 variants – Excite, Exclusive, and Essence. This price hike is applicable across all variants. The automaker has also increased the per-kilometer cost of the EV’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) scheme. However, the price of the models purchased under the BaaS scheme remains the same.

The MG Windsor EV is powered by a front-axle-mounted electric motor that produces a maximum power output of 136hp and 300Nm of torque. The 38kWh battery pack offers a driving range of 331km. Using a 45kW fast charger, the battery pack can be charged from 0-80% in 55 minutes. The 3.3kW and 7.7kW AC home chargers can fully replenish the battery in 14 hours and 6.5 hours respectively.

In terms of features, the MG Windsor EV rocks a free-floating 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster. The touchscreen infotainment system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The ‘aero lounge’ seats can recline at an angle of 135 degrees. The crossover EV seats only five people. Other features include ventilated front seats, rear AC vents, a powered driver’s seat, wireless charging, ambient lighting, a 9-speaker audio system, and a panoramic sunroof. In terms of safety, the EV gets six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, parking cameras at the front and the rear, a 360-degree camera, and a Level 2 ADAS package.

Conclusion

Buyers can choose among 4 colour options – Pearl White, Starburst Black, Turquoise Green, and Clay Beige. The EV has four driving modes – Eco+, Eco, Normal, and Sport. It rivals Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra XUV400, and Tata Nexon EV in India.
