MG Windsor EV garners over 15,000 bookings in one day

MG Motor India has revealed that it received 15,175 orders for the newly launched Windsor EV on the first day of its booking window. Bookings for the MG Windsor EV were opened on October 3. The crossover vehicle has set the record for the most bookings received by an EV on a single day. Prices for the Windsor EV start at Rs 13.50 lakh. Buyers can bring the price down to Rs 9.99 lakh by going for the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model.

MG Windsor EV is a rebadged version of the Wuling Cloud EV. Wuling is the global partner of MG Motor. The Cloud EV is sold in Indonesia as a Wuling product. The design of the Windsor and Cloud is identical. The EV gets sleek LED DRLs up front. These DRLs are connected by a slim light bar. The compact LED headlamps are housed on the bumper. Along the sides, the crossover gets the profile of an MPV. It rests on 18-inch alloy wheels. At the back, the LED tail lamps follow the design language of the DRLs. The tail lamps are also connected by a light bar.

Inside, the MG Windsor EV is packed with features like a 15.6-inch free floating touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, aero lounge seats, ventilated front seats, rear AC vents, powered driver’s seat, wireless charging, ambient lighting, a 9-speaker audio system, and a panoramic sunroof. In terms of safety, the EV gets six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, parking cameras at the front and the rear, a 360-degree camera, and a Level 2 ADAS package.

The MG Windsor EV is powered by a front-axle-mounted electric motor that produces a maximum power output of 136hp and 300Nm of torque. The 38kWh battery pack offers a driving range of 331km. Using a 45kW fast charger, the battery pack can be charged from 0-80% in 55 minutes. The 3.3kW and 7.7kW AC home chargers can fully replenish the battery in 14 hours and 6.5 hours respectively.
